I have saved countless hours knowing that a local route that I usually take is blocked and finding an alternate before I get stuck. By the way, I use Google Maps even in areas that I know well, because you just never know when there’s road construction or an accident that messes up the route.

Sure, you can just tell Google, “get me to the grocery store, or ABC Restaurant,” but you can do up to 10 full stops, as you can see in this map (well, only 8 are visible, i think) and plan an epic adventure.
